Three Months of Horror at The Cove by Scott West We can all agree that it is a good thing that the Taiji dolphin slaughter and the captive dolphin entertainment industry that derive from the hunt are now receiving a great deal of worldwide attention. Hardy Jones began his work on exposing these atrocities a few decades ago, and in 2003, Sea Shepherd elevated it to an international level of attention. Ric O’Barry and Louie Psihoyos propelled the issue onto the world’s stage with their film, The Cove. Sea Shepherd returned to Taiji again in September 2010, to maintain a daily presence in Taiji and ensure that the dolphin hunts, slaughters, and wild captures did not occur without documentation.
